don't switch to a 'finer' grinder head unless you want to take forever to grind a piece of glass.
you could try priming the grinder head by taking a scrap piece of glass; grind that glass (keeping the piece perpendicular to the grinder head) up and down several times. this technique was taught to me by some a very talented and wise person at Aanraku. It may clean it up; it may not.
OR buy the 2-fers that Aanraku sells. I've never been disappointed with them.
