Bev, thanks for this contact. I miss everybody so much. I AM about to implode. HATE this Server...which has been so good in the past. Then again we never had to test them with a real problem. THIS wouldn't have been a problem if they had just restored everything as they had it...but NOOO...they had to move it to a NEW server platform (whatever the hell that is) because they're closing down the OLD servers. How did we get so lucky? I can only say...to be kind...that they're INEPT. I'm in the process of trying to get all the Board Files away from them so we can move to another Server.
Webbie is working on that. It's been 10 DAYS since we went down. I've had a stupid running dialogue with these people on the Support site. Everything they told me there turned out to be WRONG....no LIES, just stupidity.
Webbie sent them a detailed explanation of how to fix their problem and i seriously doubt they even read it. The files are in the hands of a "level 3 engineer"...for 4 days now. If this is the BEST of their workers, they're in deep merde. I hope they sink and drown in it!
I am WAY past tolerance and patience....stopped trying to catch flies with HONEY and have turned to using ACID. I've written to their corporate feedback E-mail and done some MAJOR Bitching. Naturally, there's no Voice contact with anybody but the business office and the INDIA "offshore" Tech Help people...who are neither Techs nor helpful. The billing people (whose stupidity started this mess) are my lifeline and the only human beings you can reach....about 18 phone calls to them so far. I'm always Nice to them because they're so courteous and mpathic with me. Not so with the rest of the company.
I've moved from helpful remarks on the support Ticket commentary to bitching. I doubt it will help anybody but me. This is NOT a HUGE, Rocket Science level problem. RANK AMATEURS set up, install and maintain this board program. There are 17yr old family GEEKS who could fix it. So much for a professional Hosting Server.
Keep fingers crossed that Wwbbie can pick up those message files. We do have a good backup of the Program and can rebuild the missing files ourselves...and MOVE it intact to some company with a BRAIN. Of course, that's another nightmare of communication...DNS delays etc. etc.
Keep checking. I appreciate the loyalty of all the people who are missing SF..
